Tom Wolf Elected PA’s 47th Governor, Defeating Republican Incumbent Tom Corbett

On Tuesday, Nov. 4, Democrat Tom Wolf was elected as Pennsylvania’s 47th governor, defeating Republican incumbent Tom Corbett with 55% to 45% of the vote. The new Lieutenant Governor is Mike Stack, Democratic Senator from the 5th senatorial district in Philadelphia. Wolf’s election breaks the traditional cycle of the governor’s office changing parties every eight years.
