Thank you for your interest in joining or renewing your membership in the Pennsylvania Principals Association – the only organization dedicated solely to the support of elementary, middle level and secondary principals, assistant principals and educational leaders in Pennsylvania!

The PA Principals Association membership is open to all non-union building, district and state administrators (included in Act 93 agreements), i.e., department director / chair, curriculum director, technology coordinator, director of special education, director of guidance, school psychologist, health services director, etc.

Membership Levels:

Active Membership – $605 annually
Includes state and national membership

Available to practicing principals, assistant principals, supervisors, directors, and other educational leaders at the elementary, middle, secondary, and district levels. Includes membership in both the Pennsylvania Principals Association and the National Principals Association (NPA).

Active members receive all applicable membership benefits and services, including the Legal Benefits Program, professional liability insurance, Act 93 support, state and national advocacy, professional learning opportunities, publications, leadership resources and peer networks. National benefits include Principal Leadership, Principal’s Update, online communities, leadership networks, member resources and discounts. Legal and insurance benefits are subject to applicable program terms and eligibility requirements.

Aspiring Membership – $25 annually
State membership only

Available to individuals enrolled in an administrative or supervisory certification program who are preparing for a career in educational leadership. Includes Pennsylvania Principals Association publications, leadership resources, networking and professional learning opportunities.

This category has no time limit while the member remains eligible. It does not include national membership or the Legal Benefits Program.

Retired Membership – $85 annually
Includes state and national membership

Available to former Active members who have retired from educational leadership. Includes membership in both the Pennsylvania Principals Association and NPA, with access to publications, member resources, professional learning opportunities and peer connections. National benefits include online access to Principal Leadership, Principal’s Update, online communities, leadership networks and member discounts.

Retired membership continues eligible legal benefits for incidents that occurred while the member held Active membership, subject to applicable program terms and continuous membership requirements. It does not provide legal coverage for new incidents occurring after retirement.

Associate Membership – $120 annually
Includes state and national membership

Available to professors of education and other individuals in non-administrative positions who wish to remain connected to educational leadership. Includes membership in both the Pennsylvania Principals Association and NPA, with access to publications, leadership resources, professional learning opportunities, advocacy updates, peer networks and applicable member discounts.

Associate membership does not include the Legal Benefits Program or professional liability coverage.

State Only Retired Membership – $35 annually
Existing members only; closed to new enrollments

Available only to existing members of this category. Includes Pennsylvania Principals Association publications, resources, networking and professional learning opportunities. It does not include national membership or legal benefits protection.

Existing members may renew in this category or transition to Retired Membership, which includes both state and national membership.

A portion of your annual dues includes non-deductible lobbying costs which are 4.46% of your annual dues assessment. This portion of your dues is not deductible as a business expense. If you claim your PA Principals Association dues as a business expense on your taxes, you must deduct this 4.46%.
