Online or in school? Districts weigh options before telling PA their plans under new COVID-19 rules

The PA Department of Health and the Department of Education issued new mitigation policies that say that every school district in a county with substantial spread can make its own decision regarding in-person or remote learning, but either way it must submit an “attestation form” to the state indicating what safety measures they are taking to protect staff and students. But a deadline of Monday to file that certification paperwork doesn’t give schools a lot of time to react – particularly during the week of Thanksgiving break.
