PA lawmaker’s proposal to have school kitchens cook with fresh ingredients called ‘ideal’ — and too costly

A spokesperson for the Pennsylvania School Boards Association said the concept has the potential to deliver healthy meals to children and would empower districts with local control over ingredients and menu options. But the spokesperson said PSBA would prefer lawmakers put their immediate focus on finishing a state budget.
