Your May 23 editorial on school fund balances leaves out some critical details. The editorial criticizes the $4.4 billion in reserve for fiscal year 2015-16, citing that it is up $1 billion over five years. However, it fails to mention that in that same time period, pension costs increased 337 percent, rising $521 million in 2015-16 to $2.8 billion.
