Summary of State Education Appropriations —  Click here to see a summary of the enacted funding levels for 2014-15 Department of Education appropriations.

Basic Subsidy – The budget provides level funding at $5.26 billion. Click here to see the basic subsidy distribution for each school district.
 

Ready to Learn Block Grant – The budget provides $241 million in new Ready to Learn funding for public schools that focus on student achievement and academic success, and funding for the Accountability Block Grant that supports pre-kindergarten, full-day kindergarten and other proven educational programs at the current level of $100 million.  Click here to see the RTL Block Grant distribution for each school district and charter school. 

Special Education — Each school district will receive the same special education payments as it did in 2013-14. An additional $19.8 million will be distributed using a new three-tier formula that factors in categorical student costs, district scarcity/size, and market-value aid ratio. Secondary Career and Technical Education Subsidy — The budget includes $62 million for the Career and Technical Education appropriation. This amount is the same amount appropriated in 2013-14.   This appropriation allocates an estimated $49.6 million for the Secondary Career and Technical Education Subsidy (SCTES).
