Wilson High School senior and PA senator push for mental-wellness days for students

These days Jack Ramirez is busy finishing up his student career at Wilson High School…As president of the Wilson High School Mental Health Council, Ramirez has made it his mission to let his fellow students know that we all need time to take a deep breath and reflect on the emotions that can seem overwhelming. He contacted state Sen. Judy Schwank, who decided to lend her voice to the cause by introducing legislation last month that would allow students in kindergarten through 12th grade to take two mental wellness days each school year as excused absences.
