Education funding front and center as clock ticks on PA budget talks

As time tightens for a state budget deadline of July 1, education funding is taking a position front and center for the looming talks. A late-arriving pair of Republican education bills in the state Senate designed to make it easier to use tax money to pay private school tuition is less a real proposal than the opening salvo in budget talks, a local legislator and member of the House Education Committee said Tuesday.
