As PA school districts tally how many students will repeat grades under Act 66, they’re watching budget impact

Pittsburgh Public Schools and school districts all across the state are tallying how many parents and students are opting to repeat a grade this fall due to the impact of the pandemic, as provided for under Act 66. They’ll also be adding up the resulting costs and evaluating the impact on their budgets. Dr. Mark DiRocco, executive director, of the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators, said school spending plans had already been set for the fall when state lawmakers passed Act 66 in late June.
