Turnout in Pennsylvania surpassed typical midterm elections, officials say

Statewide, county elections officials were reporting significantly higher turnouts for midterms in Tuesday’s election. More than 4.9 million Pennsylvanians voted in the governor’s race on Tuesday, far surpassing the 3.5 million voters who cast ballots in the 2014 gubernatorial election.
