Senate Advances House Budget Bill, with Funding in Limbo

The Pennsylvania Senate took quick action on the House’s just-passed budget package Wednesday, a day before the state government’s fiscal-year deadline, although divisions remained over how to pay for the nearly $31.6 billion spending plan. The Republican-controlled Senate voted 47-3 after making changes to the plan the House passed a day earlier with bipartisan support.
