2018 Standards Aligned System (SAS) Institute – Future Ready PA: Transforming Student Pathways

The PA Department of Education’s (PDE) SAS Institute, Future Ready PA:  Transforming Student Pathways, will be held December 9 – 12, 2018, at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center, Hershey, Pa.  This year’s Institute will feature multiple keynote presenters:

  • Tony Wagner, in his book Most Likely to Succeed: Preparing Our Kids for the Innovation Era, makes a compelling case for how our education system has to change if we are to create the innovators we need to face tomorrow’s challenges.
  • Gary Schoeniger is co-author of Who Owns The Ice House: Eight Life Lessons From An Unlikely Entrepreneur and is recognized internationally as a thought leader in the field of entrepreneurial mindset education.
  • Sunanna Chand, Innovation accelerator, Pittsburgh explorer, and director of the Remake Learning Council, will share the Council’s work in sparking creativity in kids, activating them to acquire knowledge and skills necessary for navigating lifelong learning, the workforce, and citizenship.
  • Eileen Cipriani, Deputy Secretary for Workforce Development with Pennsylvania’s Department of Labor and Industry, will address Pennsylvania workforce needs and how increasing partnerships can build a system of competitiveness and innovation.

December 9, 2018

Onsite registration opens at 3:00 p.m.; guaranteed check-in is 4:00 p.m.

A 40-hour Act 45 program, Reimagining Schools for Today and Tomorrow,  begins on December 9, 2018, from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center.

December 10 – 12, 2018

Breakout sessions will feature multiple initiatives: 21st Century Employability Skills, Pathway Models, Teacher in the Workplace, Entrepreneurship and Partnerships, Regional Partnerships, and Engaging the Whole Community.

$100 – SAS Institute Registration – Full Conference

Act 45 Program (in addition to the SAS Institute registration fee)

$150 – Act 45 Program (requires Sunday afternoon attendance). Act 45 hours are awarded upon successful completion of the program.
