Winter Keystone Corrections Window and Matching Records to PIMS

The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) has been notified that certain local education agencies (LEA) have student records from the 2014-15 winter Keystone Exams that do not match to Pennsylvania Information Management System (PIMS) data. If you received a message from Data Recognition Corporation (DRC) that your LEA has been identified, your LEA must log into DRC eDIRECT Keystone Corrections System and attempt to match these students to PIMS records.

The 2014-15 winter Keystone Corrections System will be available Feb. 11-18, 2015. The Keystone Corrections System is available via eDIRECT at https://pa.drcedirect.com.

This online corrections system must be used to update the student matching criteria (PAsecureID, Last Name, First Name, and Date of Birth) for any student record that is not matched to PIMS data. These records are typically unmatched because the information provided for the student is not exactly the same as the data that was provided to DRC in the PIMS Keystone reporting file. The information could have been bubbled incorrectly on an answer booklet for a student using a district/school label or provided incorrectly when student data was uploaded directly into eDIRECT.

The unmatched student records can be identified by an ‘N’ found in the PIMS match column within the corrections system. It is the LEA’s responsibility to log into the corrections system and attempt to match every student to PIMS.

Note: If the unmatched student record was not uploaded to PIMS prior to the production of the winter Keystone reporting file, updating the matching criteria will not produce a successful match.
