The Elizabethtown Area School District (EASD) seeks energetic and qualified candidates for an immediate opportunity to join District Administration as the Principal of our Middle School. EASD is located in suburban Elizabethtown PA, approximately 15 miles southeast of Harrisburg. The district is home to approximately 4000 students, including 600+ at the Middle School. The Principal will direct the operation of a 7th and 8th Grade building and take on responsibility for instructional and curricular leadership of 45 professional staff and 8 support staff. The principal will help the district achieve its mission and related goals and objectives, set an example of an exceptional professional educator for all students and staff to model and provide an educational climate that fosters learning as a life-long process. The Principal will partner effectively with all stakeholders to build and develop a culture of continuous student and staff growth and development. The Principal will be accountable for all processes and systems in the school related to budgeting, staffing, problem-solving, communications and scheduling while fostering an environment of staff accountability and student achievement. The Principal will assure that a Standards Aligned System (SAS) is in place and addresses the linkage of curriculum, instruction, assessment and data on student learning and teacher effectiveness. As the school leader, the Principal will promote the success of all students, the positive interactions among stakeholders and the professional growth of staff by acting with integrity, fairness and in an ethical manner. EASD will evaluate candidates based on the Framework for Leadership, including: Strategic and Cultural Leadership; Systems Leadership; Leadership for Learning; Professional and Community Leadership. Candidates will also be evaluated on the following education, experience and certification requirements: Masters degree and five years teaching experience at the Secondary level is recommended; Secondary administration experience and prior principal experience preferred; Certification as a secondary principal is required.
