The Assistant Superintendent is someone who is a systems thinker, passionate and committed to learning and leading in a high functioning educational organization, focused on educating Life Ready Learners. This individual will have the authority and responsibility for the overall leadership, development, implementation and growth of the educational programming in the district, actively communicating and demonstrating the District’s vision and mission. He/she assists the Superintendent by working with staff to create conditions for academic quality and equity K-12 by developing, contributing and championing opportunities which enhance growth and development of both students and staff. This person will provide oversight and direction in assessing educational progress; monitoring instructional design and delivery; developing and refining curriculum as appropriate; coordinating effective professional development programming and experiences; while tending to the financial and operational impacts in the K-12 educational system. In the absence of the Superintendent of Schools, the Assistant Superintendent shall be in charge of the district, making all necessary decisions normally made by the Superintendent.
